Singing Bowl Types
Jambati
Known for their deep, resonant tones, Jambati bowls are often large with thick walls, displaying visible hammering marks.
Thadobati
These bowls are characterized by their straight, high walls and a wide, flat bottom.
Remuna
Remuna bowls have a more subtle, inward curving lip and thinner walls, giving them a unique, soft sound profile.
Manipuri
Small and shallow, Manipuri singing bowls produce lighter, higher-pitched tones.
Lingam
Recognized by the lingam (a protrusion) at the center, these bowls are rare and considered very sacred.
Pedestal
Also known as Naga bowls, these have a base or pedestal which they sit on, giving them a goblet-like appearance.
Trapezoid
Trapezoid trapezoid bowls have a shape that resembles a trapezoid, with sides that flare out more than typical bowls.
Ultabati
Ultabati bowls are known for their exceptionally large size and can produce very low tones akin to the sound of the earth's hum.
Crystal
Crystal singing bowls, unlike their metal counterparts, are a relatively modern addition to the sound therapy repertoire, emerging in the late 20th century.
